शरत्प्रवेशे रामविलापः तथा सुग्रीवप्रमादे लक्ष्मणप्रेषणम् (Autumn’s Onset: Rama’s Lament and Lakshmana Sent to Sugriva)

न जानकी मानव वंशनाथत्वया सनाथा सुलभा परेण।न चाग्निचूडां ज्वलितामुपेत्यन दह्यते वीर वरार्ह कच्छित्।।

Transliteration

na jānakī mānava-vaṁśa-nātha tvayā sanāthā sulabhā pareṇa | na cāgnicūḍāṁ jvalitām upetya na dahyate vīra varārha kacchit ||

Translation

O lord of the human lineage, since Janakī has you as her protector, she cannot be easily held by another. Just as none can approach a towering, blazing fire without being burned, so none can safely keep her when you rise to reclaim her.

Context

'O lord of the human race! O worthy hero! when you are the protector, Janaki cannot be retained by any one easily just as burning fire after it reaches its full height cannot be retained by any one.'
