Shloka 4.27.14
प्रस्रवणगिरिवासवर्णनम् (Residence on Mount Prasravana; Counsel during the Rains)
गिरिशृङ्गमिदं तात पश्य चोत्तरतः शुभम्।भिन्नाञ्जनचयाकारमम्भोधरमिवोत्थितम्4.27.14।।
śārdūla-mṛga-saṅghuṣṭaṃ siṃhair bhīma-ravair vṛtam |
nānā-gulma-latā-gūḍhaṃ bahu-pādapa-saṅkulam || 4.27.2 ||
ṛkṣa-vānara-gopucchair mārjāraiś ca niṣevitam |
megha-rāśi-nibhaṃ śailaṃ nityaṃ śuci-jalāśayam || 4.27.3 ||
This mountain resounds with the cries of tigers and deer, and it is ringed by lions with dreadful roars. Hidden beneath many kinds of shrubs and creepers, it is crowded with countless trees. Bears, monkeys, langūrs, and wildcats frequent it; it looks like a piled mass of clouds, and it ever holds pools of pure water.
'O dear! look at the mountain peak in the north rising like a rain-cloud.It is auspicious. It resembles a heap of collyrium.
Dharma here is expressed as steadiness and preparedness: the landscape is assessed realistically (danger, shelter, water) so that the righteous mission—searching for Sītā—can be pursued responsibly.
As the search effort is being organized in Kishkindhā, the speaker describes the mountain terrain—its wildlife, vegetation, and pure water sources—relevant to travel and encampment.
Practical wisdom and vigilance—carefully observing conditions and conveying them truthfully for the success of a dharmic task.
