महाभिषेकः — Sugriva’s Coronation and Angada’s Installation
भवता समनुज्ञातः प्रविश्य नगरं शुभम्।।संविधास्यति कार्याणि सर्वाणि ससुहृज्जनः।स्नातोऽयं विविधैर्गन्धैरौषधैश्च यथाविधि।।
bhavatā samanujñātaḥ praviśya nagaraṃ śubham | saṃvidhāsyati kāryāṇi sarvāṇi sasuhṛj-janaḥ | snāto ’yaṃ vividhair gandhair auṣadhaiś ca yathā-vidhi ||
With your permission, he will enter the auspicious city together with his friends and set in order all the necessary affairs. He has already bathed in the prescribed manner with various fragrances and medicinal herbs, according to custom.
'Permitted by your gracious self, he will enter the auspicious city along with his friends and perform his duties. He had his auspicious bath in fragrant waters with medicinal herbs as per tradition.
Dharma here is orderly responsibility: once legitimately authorized, a leader (or one entering public office) should proceed with proper rites and then competently arrange the kingdom’s affairs for the common good.
After Sugrīva’s consecration and preparations, it is explained that he will enter the city with supporters, having performed the customary bath with fragrant and medicinal substances, and then attend to state matters.
Propriety and preparedness—acting with permission, following tradition, and then focusing on duty rather than impulse.
