तारोपदेशः — Tara’s Counsel to Vali on Sugriva’s Roar and Rama’s Alliance
अहं हि ते क्षमं मन्ये तेन रामेण सौहृदम्।सुग्रीवेण च सम्प्रीतिं वैरमुत्सृज्य दूरतः।।
ahaṃ hi te kṣamaṃ manye tena rāmeṇa sauhṛdam |
sugrīveṇa ca samprītiṃ vairam utsṛjya dūrataḥ ||
I deem it proper for you to cast enmity far away and cultivate affection with Sugrīva, and friendship with that Rāma.
'Leave enmity with Sugriva far behind. Make friendship with Rama. I think it is the right thing for you.
Dharma here is the deliberate abandonment of hostility and the cultivation of right alliances—choosing peace and goodwill over destructive rivalry.
Tārā advises Vālī to stop his conflict, reconcile with Sugrīva, and adopt a friendly stance toward Rāma.
Prudence (nīti) and self-restraint—acting with foresight rather than being driven by anger.
