Shloka 4.12.6
द्वादशः सर्गः — Rama’s Proof of Power, the First Duel, and the Identification Mark (Kishkindha Kanda, Sarga 12)
स मूर्ध्ना न्यपतदभ्मौ प्रलम्बीकृतभूषणः।सुग्रीवः परमप्रीतो राघवाय कृताञ्जलिः4.12.6।।
sa mūrdhnā nyapatad bhūmau pralambīkṛtabhūṣaṇaḥ |
sugrīvaḥ paramaprīto rāghavāya kṛtāñjaliḥ ||
Overjoyed, Sugrīva—his ornaments hanging down—fell to the ground with head bowed, and with folded hands paid reverence to Rāghava (Rāma).
Sugriva was immensely happy and offered obeisance to Rama with folded hands and bowed down and prostrated while his ornaments touched the ground.
Dharma includes humility and gratitude toward one who supports a righteous cause; reverence is shown when trust is earned through truth and protection.
After witnessing Rāma’s feat, Sugrīva is overwhelmed with relief and devotion, offering respectful prostration.
Sugrīva’s humility and thankfulness, acknowledging Rāma as a dharmic protector.
