सुग्रीवस्य वैरानुकथनम् (Sugriva’s Account of Enmity and Appeal to Rama)
इदं बहुशलाकं ते पूर्णचन्द्रमिवोदितम्।छत्रं सवालव्यजनं प्रतीच्छस्व मया धृतम्।।
idaṃ bahuśalākaṃ te pūrṇacandram ivoditam | chatraṃ savālavyajanaṃ pratīcchasva mayā dhṛtam ||
Accept from me this parasol with many ribs, rising like the full moon, along with the yak-tail fan—both held out for you.
'Here is the many-ribbed parasol shining like the full Moon above the horizon and the yak's tail-fan held by me.Pray accept it.
It reflects dharma as honoring a guest/ally with respect and proper offerings—upholding maryādā (courteous conduct) even amid distress.
As Sugrīva approaches friendship with Rāma, royal emblems like the parasol and yak-tail fan are offered as marks of honor.
