नूनं न तु वसन्तोऽतं देशं स्पृशति यत्र सा।कथं ह्यसितपद्माक्षी वर्तयेत्सा मया विना।।।।

Transliteration

nūnaṃ na tu vasantas taṃ deśaṃ spṛśati yatra sā | kathaṃ hy asita-padma-akṣī vartayet sā mayā vinā ||

Translation

Surely spring does not touch that land where she is; for how could she—dark-lotus-eyed—endure life without me?

Context

'Spring must not have touched the place where she is now staying. Otherwise how could my Sita with eyes like blue lotus live without me?
