ऋश्यशृङ्गानयनकथा — The Account of Bringing Ṛśyaśṛṅga (and the Remedy for Drought)
आनाय्य च महीपाल ऋश्यशृङ्गं सुसत्कृतम्।प्रयच्छ कन्यां शान्तां वै विधिना सुसमाहित: ।।।।
ānāyya ca mahīpāla ṛśyaśṛṅgaṃ susatkṛtam | prayaccha kanyāṃ śāntāṃ vai vidhinā susamāhitaḥ ||
O king, having brought Ṛśyaśṛṅga and honored him well, offer your daughter Śāntā to him in marriage according to the proper rites, with full reverence and composed mind.
"O monarch, on having brought Rsyasringa here, honour him, and offer him your daughter Santa with due reverence.
Dharma requires that alliances and sacred undertakings be conducted with honor (satkāra) and correct ritual order (vidhi), not merely for utility.
The advisers outline the full plan: bring the sage respectfully and formalize a marriage alliance with Śāntā through proper ceremonies.
Reverence and propriety: the king is urged to act with composure, honoring the sage and following ritual law.
