Shloka 1.74.12

परशुरामप्रादुर्भावः — The Appearance of Parasurama on the Return from Mithila

राज्ञो दशरथस्यैतच्छ्रुत्वा वाक्यं महानृषि:।।।।उवाच मधुरां वाणीं श्रूयतामस्य यत्फलम्।

viśvāmitre gate rājā vaidehaṃ mithilādhipam | āpṛṣṭvā ’tha jagāmāśu rājā daśarathaḥ purīm ||

After Viśvāmitra had departed, King Daśaratha took leave of Vaideha Janaka, the lord of Mithilā, and quickly set out for his own city, Ayodhyā.

To these words of king Dasaratha the great ascetic Vasishta replied in a gentle voice, "I shall tell you the consequences Listen!".

Maryādā (propriety): the king follows proper etiquette by formally taking leave of his host-king before departing, reflecting disciplined conduct and respect.

After the wedding events and with Viśvāmitra’s departure, Daśaratha respectfully bids farewell to Janaka and begins the return journey to Ayodhyā.

Daśaratha’s courtesy and kingly decorum—acting in accordance with social and royal dharma.
