त्रिसप्ततितमः सर्गः (Sarga 73): Mithilā Vivāha—Kanyādāna and the Fourfold Marriage Rites
युक्ते मुहूर्ते विजये सर्वाभरणभूषितै:।भ्रातृभिस्सहितो राम: कृतकौतुकमंगल:।।।।वसिष्ठं पुरत: कृत्वा महर्षीनपरानपि।पितु स्समीपमाश्रित्य तस्थौ भ्रातृभिरावृत:।।।।
yukte muhūrte vijaye sarvābharaṇabhūṣitaiḥ | bhrātṛbhiḥ sahito rāmaḥ kṛtakautukamaṅgalaḥ || vasiṣṭhaṃ purataḥ kṛtvā maharṣīn aparān api | pituḥ samīpam āśritya tasthau bhrātṛbhir āvṛtaḥ ||
At the auspicious time called Vijaya, after the preparatory marriage rites had been duly performed, Rāma—adorned with all ornaments and accompanied by his brothers—approached his father and stood there, placing Vasiṣṭha and other great seers in the forefront.
With the necessary auspicious rites preparatory to marriage performed at an auspicious moment, Vijaya, and keeping Vasishta and other maharshis in the forefront, Rama accompanied by his brothers adorned with ornaments of every kind came into his father's presence.
Dharma is shown as orderly action: auspicious timing, correct rites, and respect for elders and teachers structure major life events.
Before the marriage proceedings, Rāma and his brothers, fully prepared and ornamented, come to Daśaratha, led by Vasiṣṭha and other seers.
Humility and reverence: Rāma honours both paternal authority and the guidance of sages by placing them foremost.
