त्रिसप्ततितमः सर्गः (Sarga 73): Mithilā Vivāha—Kanyādāna and the Fourfold Marriage Rites

इयं सीता मम सुता सहधर्मचरी तव।प्रतीच्छ चैनां भद्रं ते पाणिं गृह्णीष्व पाणिना।।।।

Transliteration

pativratā mahābhāgā chāyevā́nugatā sadā |

ity uktvā prākṣipad rājā mantrapūtaṃ jalaṃ tadā || 1.73.28 ||

Translation

“A devoted wife (pativratā), greatly blessed, she will ever follow you like a shadow.” Having said this, the king then sprinkled water sanctified by mantras.
