वंशवर्णनम् तथा विवाहप्रार्थना — Genealogy of the Ikshvaku Line and the Proposal for Marriage

bāṇasya tu mahātejā anaraṇyaḥ pratāpavān | anaraṇyāt pṛthur jajñe triśaṅkus tu pṛthoḥ sutaḥ ||

From Bāṇa was born Anaraṇya, mighty and radiant; from Anaraṇya was born Pṛthu; and Pṛthu’s son was Triśaṅku.

Bana's son was the most brilliant and valiant Anaranya whose son Pruthu was succeeded by Trisanku.

The verse supports the dharmic idea of lineage-responsibility: royal identity is tied to inherited duty (rajadharma) carried through generations.

A genealogical segment tracing the Ikṣvāku line, preparing background for later episodes connected to Triśaṅku and the dynasty’s fame.

Royal prowess and splendour (tejas, pratāpa) as inherited ideals expected to be used in service of dharma.
