Thereafter, Kukṣi’s illustrious son Vikukṣi was born; and to Vikukṣi was born the mighty and radiant son Bāṇa, renowned for his valor.

Dharma is presented as dynastic continuity paired with merit: the line progresses through named heirs, and royal power is ideally joined with valor under moral order.

Vasiṣṭha continues enumerating the Ikṣvāku successors from Kukṣi to Vikukṣi to Bāṇa.

Pratāpa (valor/majestic power) as a kingly excellence, meant to serve dharma rather than ego.
