एकोनसप्ततितमः सर्गः — Daśaratha’s Departure to Videha and Marriage Arrangements
श्व: प्रभाते नरेन्द्रेन्द्र निर्वर्तयितुमर्हसि।।।।यज्ञस्यान्ते नरश्रेष्ठ विवाहमृषिसम्मतम्।
śvaḥ prabhāte narendrendra nirvartayitum arhasi |
yajñasyānte naraśreṣṭha vivāham ṛṣisammatam || 1.69.12 ||
O best of kings, foremost of men—tomorrow at dawn, when the yajña is complete, you should duly solemnize the marriage, as approved by the sages.
O Foremost of men, O Best of kings, tomorrow at dawn after the completion of the sacrifice, you should perform the marriage with approval by the sages".
Dharma as proper sequencing and authorization of rites: sacred acts (yajña, vivāha) should be performed at the right time and with ṛṣi-sammati (sage sanction).
Janaka proposes the precise timing for the wedding—after the sacrifice concludes, at the next dawn—ensuring ritual completeness.
