शिवधनुर्दर्शनं—रामेण धनुर्भङ्गश्च (The Showing of Śiva’s Bow and Rama’s Breaking of It)

ब्रह्मर्षेर्वचनाद्रामो यत्र तिष्ठति तद्धनु:।मञ्जूषां तामपावृत्य दृष्ट्वा धनुरथाब्रवीत्।।।।

brahmarṣer vacanād rāmo yatra tiṣṭhati tad dhanuḥ | mañjūṣāṃ tām apāvṛtya dṛṣṭvā dhanur athābravīt || 1.67.13 ||

At the Brahmarṣi’s instruction, Rāma went to where the bow was kept; opening the casket, he beheld the bow and then spoke.

At the words of the great rishi Viswamitra, Rama opened the casket, beheld the bow and said:

R
Rāma
V
Viśvāmitra (as Brahmarṣi)
T
the bow (Śiva-dhanus / Pināka)
M
mañjūṣā (casket)

Reverent action under lawful authority: sacred objects are approached carefully and only after proper instruction.

Rāma reaches the bow’s location, opens its casket, sees it, and prepares to respond.

Rāma’s composure and respect—he proceeds methodically rather than rashly.
