त्रिशङ्कुस्वर्गारोহণम् — Trishanku’s Bodily Ascent and the New Constellations

तत: परमसम्भ्रान्तास्सर्षिसङ्घास्सुरासुरा:।विश्वामित्रं महात्मानमूचु: सानुनयं वच:।।।।

tataḥ paramasambhrāntāḥ sarṣisaṅghāḥ surāsurāḥ |

viśvāmitraṁ mahātmānam ūcuḥ sānunayaṁ vacaḥ || 1.60.24 ||

Then, utterly shaken, the assembled hosts of seers—together with devas and asuras—addressed the great-souled Viśvāmitra with conciliatory, supplicating words.

Struck with wonder and fear, hosts of rishis, suras and asuras humbly addressed Viswamitra.

When order is threatened, dharma favors respectful counsel and de-escalation—approaching even a powerful ascetic with humility to prevent harm.

As Viśvāmitra begins a radical act of creation in anger, sages, gods, and asuras unite to placate him and avert cosmic disruption.

Humility and prudent speech (vinaya, hitavacana) are emphasized by the petitioners.
