In Ayodhyā one could find nowhere a person driven by lust, a miser, or a cruel man—nor anyone unlearned, nor an atheist.
The lustful, the miserly, the unscholarly and atheists were not to be seen anywhere in the city of Ayodhya.
A dharmic community restrains destructive impulses (lust, greed, cruelty) and supports learning and faith in moral order—creating a culture where vice is socially absent or marginal.
The narrator idealizes Ayodhyā by listing moral failings that were not found there.
Self-restraint and moral education at a societal level—citizenship shaped by discipline rather than appetite.
