saśarīro yathā ’haṃ hi devalokam avāpnuyām |

With my head bowed, I beseech you, O Brahmins steadfast in tapas: with minds composed, guide me in performing the yajña for the fulfillment of my aim—so that, in this very body, I may attain the world of the devas.

You, brahmins are established in austerity. I bow to you. I beg all of you to direct me with composed minds to direct me in order to attain heaven in physical form'.

Dharma is pursued through disciplined means: humility before the spiritually qualified and correct performance of yajña under Brahmin guidance, not through force or pride.

Viśvāmitra formally petitions the ascetic Brahmins to officiate and enable his sacrifice aimed at attaining heaven.

Self-restraint and sincerity: he bows, asks properly, and seeks focused, lawful ritual assistance.
