Even as Vasiṣṭha repeatedly said, “Do not fear,” he declared: “Today I shall destroy Gādheya (Viśvāmitra), just as the sun dispels mist.”
Even while Vasistha was repeatedly assuring the saints saying "Do not fear, I will nowdestroy Viswamitra, son of Gadhi just as the Sun dispels the morning mist (they fled)".
A dharmic guardian reassures and protects: Vasiṣṭha embodies the duty to remove fear and counter unjust aggression, as light removes obscuring mist.
As panic spreads in the hermitage, Vasiṣṭha tries to calm everyone and announces his intent to neutralize Viśvāmitra.
Protective courage grounded in spiritual authority—steadfastness (dhṛti) and confidence born of tapas.
