यज्ञवाटप्रवेशः जनक-विश्वामित्रसंवादश्च (Arrival at the Sacrificial Ground and Janaka’s Reception)
अद्य यज्ञसमृध्दिर्मे सफला दैवतै: कृता।।1.50.13।।अद्य यज्ञफलं प्राप्तं भगवद्दर्शनान्मया।
adya yajñasamṛddhir me saphalā daivataiḥ kṛtā |
adya yajñaphalaṃ prāptaṃ bhagavaddarśanān mayā ||
Today the prosperity of my sacrifice has been made fruitful by the gods; today, through the sight of your venerable presence, I have obtained the true fruit of the sacrifice.
"Today my sacrifice has been rendered fruitful by the devatas. I have reaped the fruit of my sacrifice today by your venerable presence.
True religious merit is not merely ritual completion but reverence for holiness and truth: honoring a realized sage is presented as the ‘fruit’ of sacrifice.
Janaka begins speaking to Viśvāmitra, expressing that the sacrifice is blessed and fulfilled by the sage’s presence.
Janaka’s humility and devotion—he credits divine grace and venerable company rather than personal achievement.
