अहल्याशापवर्णनम् (The Account of Ahalyā’s Curse and the Deserted Hermitage near Mithilā)
तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा यथावृत्तं न्यवेदयत्।सिद्धाश्रमनिवासं च राक्षसानां वधं तथा।।।।
tasya tadvacanaṃ śrutvā yathāvṛttaṃ nyavedayat |
siddhāśramanivāsaṃ ca rākṣasānāṃ vadhaṃ tathā ||
Hearing his words, Viśvāmitra reported the events exactly as they had occurred—how they dwelt at Siddhāśrama, and how the rākṣasas were slain.
On hearing his words, he (Viswamitra) related all about their stay at Siddhashrama and the slaying of rakshasas.
Satya in testimony: events are reported ‘as they happened’ (yathāvṛttam), highlighting truthfulness as a dharmic obligation, especially in royal and sacrificial matters.
After Janaka’s inquiry, Viśvāmitra recounts the Siddhāśrama episode and the killing of the rākṣasas.
