Having offered him the highest honors—together with his preceptors and kinsmen—Sumati, with folded palms, asked Viśvāmitra of his welfare and then addressed him.
Along with his spiritual preceptors and relatives he paid Viswamitra great respect, enquired his well-being and said:
Maryādā and dhārmic hospitality: honoring guests, consulting elders, and speaking with humility are presented as marks of righteous governance.
After going out to meet the sage, Sumati performs formal honors, inquires after Viśvāmitra’s well-being, and begins conversation.
Humility and reverence—folded hands, inquiry into welfare, and involving preceptors show disciplined respect for spiritual authority.
