Shloka 1.41.10

अंशुमान्—अश्वान्वेषणम्, दिशागजसंवादः, कपिलदाहवृत्तान्तः, गङ्गोपदेशः (Anshuman’s Search for the Horse and the Counsel to Bring Ganga)

तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा सर्वानेव दिशागजान्।यथाक्रमं यथान्यायं प्रष्टुं समुपचक्रमे।।।।

tasya tadvacanaṁ śrutvā sarvān eva diśāgajān | yathākramaṁ yathānyāyaṁ praṣṭuṁ samupacakrame ||

After hearing the words spoken to him, Anśumān began to inquire—successively and with due propriety—of all the elephants guarding the quarters.

Having listened to the words of the elephant, Anshuman started enquring the well being of each of the guardians (elephants) of the quarters successively with due respect:

A
Anśumān
D
diśāgajas (elephants of the quarters)

Dharma values orderly, respectful inquiry: knowledge-seeking should follow proper method (krama) and propriety (nyāya), not arrogance or haste.

On his quest, Anśumān consults the cosmic guardians (directional elephants) in a disciplined sequence.

Humility and discipline—he approaches powerful beings with due respect and correct procedure.
