This is Gaṅgā who moves through the heavens; in her the Fire-god will beget a son—an enemy-subduer—who shall become the commander of the gods’ hosts.
"Ganga keeps flowing in the celestial regions. Through Ganga the Fire-god will beget a son who will be capable of destroying enemies. He will become the army general of the gods".
Dharma as cosmic protection: extraordinary means are sanctioned to establish a defender who restores balance and safeguards the divine order.
Brahmā identifies Gaṅgā as the medium through which Agni will produce the future divine general, resolving the gods’ need for a powerful leader.
Leadership in service of righteousness: the future son is defined by his role—subduing hostility to uphold order.
