कुशनाभकन्याशतविवाहः — The Marriage of Kuśanābha’s Hundred Daughters (and the Birth of Brahmadatta)
स च तां कालयोगेन प्रोवाच रघुनन्दन।परितुष्टोऽस्मि भद्रं ते किं करोमि तव प्रियम्।।1.33.14।।
sa ca tāṃ kālayogena provāca raghunandana | parituṣṭo 'smi bhadraṃ te kiṃ karomi tava priyam ||
And in due time, O delight of the Raghus, he said to her: “I am pleased. Blessings upon you—what favor may I do for you?”
When her services came to a fruition with the passage of time, maharshi Chuli, spoke to her: 'I am pleased with you. What favour shall I do for you? May you be prosperous!'
Dharma includes gratitude and reciprocity: the guru recognizes sincere service and offers a boon, showing that virtue is to be acknowledged and supported.
Cūlī, satisfied with Somadā’s long service, invites her to ask for a favor.
The sage’s fairness and benevolence—rewarding merit at the proper time.
