तृतीयः सर्गः (Bālakāṇḍa 3): Vālmīki’s Yogic Verification and the Epic Synopsis
अनागतं च यत्किञ्चिद्रामस्य वसुधातले ।तच्चकारोत्तरे काव्ये वाल्मीकिर्भगवानृषि: ।।।।
anāgataṃ ca yat kiñcid rāmasya vasudhātale | tac cakārottare kāvye vālmīkir bhagavān ṛṣiḥ ||
And whatever events of Rāma were yet to come upon the face of the earth—those too the revered sage Vālmīki composed in the later poem, the Uttara-kāṇḍa.
Divine sage Valmiki composed events yet to happen on this earth in the history of Rama in Uttarakanda.ityārṣē śrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīya ādikāvyē bālakāṇḍē tṛtīyassarga:৷৷Thus ends the third sarga of Balakanda of the holy Ramayana in synopsis of the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
Commitment to complete truth (satya) in itihāsa: the poet-sage records not only past events but also the later consequences of actions, presenting dharma as something tested over time.
The synopsis indicates that Vālmīki’s composition includes later events in the Uttara-kāṇḍa, extending the narrative beyond the main victory and return.
