Shloka 1.28.1

अस्त्रग्रहणं संहारोपदेशश्च — Receiving the Astras and Instruction on Withdrawal

प्रतिगृह्य ततोऽस्त्राणि प्रहृष्टवदनश्शुचि:।गच्छन्नेव च काकुत्स्थो विश्वामित्रमथाब्रवीत्।।1.28.1।।

pratigṛhya tato 'strāṇi prahṛṣṭavadanaḥ śuciḥ |

gacchann eva ca kākutstho viśvāmitram athābravīt ||

Having received those weapons, purified and with a joyful countenance, Kākutstha (Rāma), even as he went onward, then spoke to Viśvāmitra.

After performing the purificatory rites, Rama received the weapons with a cheerful face. In the way Rama said to Viswamitra.

Śauca (purity) and right reception: sacred power is approached with inner and outer discipline, showing that Dharma governs even the acquisition of capability.

After receiving the astras and completing purificatory observances, Rāma continues the journey and begins speaking with Viśvāmitra.

Reverent readiness: Rāma’s cheerful composure and purification show humility and preparedness to use knowledge responsibly.
