विश्वामित्रस्य यज्ञरक्षा-याचना (Visvamitra Requests Rama for Yajna-Protection)
इत्येवमुक्त्वा धर्मात्मा धर्मार्थसहितं वच:।।।।विरराम महातेजा विश्वामित्रो महामुनि:।
nātyeti kālo yajñasya yathā 'yaṃ mama rāghava |
tathā kuruṣva bhadraṃ te mā ca śoke manaḥ kṛthāḥ ||
O Rāghava, act so that the time of my yajña is not delayed. May good be yours; do not let your mind sink into grief.
After speaking these words charged with dharma and artha the great sage resplendent Viswamitra fell silent.
Timely action is part of dharma: sacred duties (like yajña-protection) must not be obstructed by personal sorrow or indecision.
Viśvāmitra presses for prompt consent so the yajña proceeds on schedule, while also consoling Daśaratha against grief.
Steadfastness and emotional governance—acting rightly without being ruled by grief.
