पुत्रजन्मोत्सवः — Birth of the Princes and Viśvāmitra’s Arrival (Bālakāṇḍa 18)
वसिष्ठं च समागम्य कुशलं मुनिपुङ्गव:।।।।ऋषींश्च तान्यथान्यायं महाभागानुवाच ह।
vasiṣṭhaṃ ca samāgamya kuśalaṃ munipuṅgavaḥ | ṛṣīṃś ca tān yathānyāyaṃ mahābhāgān uvāca ha ||
The foremost of sages approached Vasiṣṭha as well, and—according to proper custom—addressed those illustrious ṛṣis, asking after their well-being.
The foremost of ascetis, Viswamitra approached Vasishta and all other distinguised sages following the protocal and enquired about their welfare.
Maryādā (proper conduct): even great ascetics uphold courteous protocol, showing that dharma is expressed through respectful social order.
Viśvāmitra formally greets Vasiṣṭha and other sages present at the royal setting and inquires about their welfare.
Humility and decorum—greatness is shown by honoring others appropriately.
