पुत्रजन्मोत्सवः — Birth of the Princes and Viśvāmitra’s Arrival (Bālakāṇḍa 18)

पुरे कोशे जनपदे बान्धवेषु सुहृत्सु च ।।।।कुशलं कौशिको राज्ञ: पर्यपृच्छत्सुधार्मिक:।

pure kośe janapade bāndhaveṣu suhṛtsu ca | kuśalaṃ kauśiko rājñaḥ paryapṛcchat sudhārmikaḥ ||

The supremely righteous Kauśika (Viśvāmitra) asked the king whether all was well—in the city, in the treasury, throughout the realm, and among his kinsmen and friends.

The exceedingly virtuous sage Viswamitra enquired from the king about the treasury welfare of his subjects living in cities and villages, and the well being of his friends and relatives.

Rajadharma: a kingdom’s righteousness is judged by holistic well-being—public order, economic stability, and social harmony.

Viśvāmitra continues formal inquiry into multiple sectors of Daśaratha’s rule.

Practical wisdom—attention to both spiritual and administrative dimensions of dharma.
