तेषां तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा सपुरोधास्समाहित:।।।।प्रत्युज्जगाम तं हृष्टो ब्रह्माणमिव वासव:।
teṣāṃ tadvacanaṃ śrutvā sapurodhāḥ samāhitaḥ | pratyujjagāma taṃ hṛṣṭo brahmāṇam iva vāsavaḥ ||
Hearing their report, Daśaratha—composed and accompanied by his priests—went out joyfully to welcome him, like Vāsava (Indra) going forth to receive Brahmā.
Having heard their words, Dasaratha in great joy went forth together with his preceptors to receive him like Indra receiving Brahma.
Dharma is honoring spiritual authority: a righteous king receives a sage with reverence, recognizing the primacy of tapas and wisdom.
Daśaratha, after hearing the announcement, personally goes out with his priests to welcome Viśvāmitra.
Humility and devotion to dharma in leadership—Daśaratha’s eagerness to honor a great ṛṣi.
