कौसल्या शुशुभे तेन पुत्रेणामिततेजसा।।।।यथा वरेण देवानामदितिर्वज्रपाणिना।
kausalyā śuśubhe tena putreṇāmitatejasā || 1.18.11 ||
yathā vareṇa devānām aditir vajrapāṇinā |
Kausalyā shone with that son of immeasurable radiance, as Aditi shone with Indra, foremost among the gods, the wielder of the thunderbolt.
Kausalya glowed with the undiminished lustre of her son, just as Aditi with her son Indra, the foremost among the gods and the wielder of thunder.
Dharma is linked with tejas (radiant moral power): the birth of a dharmic figure brings uplift and legitimacy to the household and the kingdom.
