Shloka 1.16.20

पायसप्रादुर्भावः — The Manifestation of the Divine Payasa and the Avatara Resolution

भार्याणामनुरूपाणामश्नीतेति प्रयच्छ वै।तासु त्वं प्राप्स्यसे पुत्रान्यदर्थं यजसे नृप।।।।

bhāryāṇām anurūpāṇām aśnīta iti prayaccha vai | tāsu tvaṃ prāpsyase putrān yadarthaṃ yajase nṛpa || 1.16.20 ||

O King, give it to your worthy queens, saying, “Let them partake of it.” Through them you will obtain the sons for whose sake you are performing this sacrifice.

O King! you are performing this sacrifice for the sake of sons. Give this to your worthy consorts to consume it. They will bear you sons".

Dharma is purposeful sacred action: the yajña is aligned with a righteous aim (progeny for dynastic and social continuity), and divine grace is to be shared appropriately with rightful recipients.

A divine figure presents consecrated payasa and instructs Daśaratha to give it to his queens so that they may conceive sons.

Daśaratha’s obedience to sacred instruction and commitment to household and royal duty (gṛhastha/raja-dharma).
