द्वादशः सर्गः — Aśvamedha-saṅkalpa (Daśaratha resolves on the Horse Sacrifice)
तथेति च ततस्सर्वे मन्त्रिण: प्रत्यपूजयन्। पार्थिवेन्द्रस्य तद्वाक्यं यथाज्ञप्तमकुर्वत।।1.12.19।।
tatheti ca tataḥ sarve mantriṇaḥ pratyapūjayan | pārthivendrasya tadvākyaṃ yathājñaptam akurvata || 1.12.19 ||
Saying, “So be it,” all the ministers respectfully assented; honoring the king’s words, they carried out his command exactly as it had been given.
Honouring the words of the king, all the ministers did as ordered.
Effective and dharmic governance depends on respectful counsel and faithful execution: ministers should honor rightful authority and implement decisions precisely, without distortion or delay.
After the king issues his directive (in the context of royal preparations), the ministers formally assent—“So be it”—and proceed to carry out his instructions exactly as commanded.
