Shloka 1.11.18

ऋष्यशृङ्गानयनम् — Bringing Ṛśyaśṛṅga to Ayodhyā (Bālakāṇḍa, Sarga 11)

एवं सुसत्कृतस्तेन सहोषित्वा नरर्षभ:।सप्ताष्टदिवसान्राजा राजानमिदमब्रवीत्।।1.11.18।।

evaṃ susatkṛtas tena sahōṣitvā nararṣabhaḥ | saptāṣṭa-divasān rājā rājānam idam abravīt ||1.11.18||

Thus, having been well honored by him and having stayed there, the king—best among men—after seven or eight days spoke these words to King Romapāda.

In this manner, the great among men, the king well-honoured by Romapada, spent seven or eight days there.And then spoke this to Romapada:

Dharma as patience and propriety: Daśaratha does not rush his request; he accepts hospitality and then speaks at an appropriate time.

After staying several days as an honored guest, Daśaratha begins to present his purpose to Romapāda.

Daśaratha’s restraint and tact—he follows social timing and royal decorum.
