वने तस्मिन्निवसता जनस्थाननिवासिनाम् ।।।।रक्षसां निहतान्यासन्सहस्राणि चतुर्दश ।
vane tasmin nivasatā janasthānanivāsinām | rakṣasāṃ nihatāny āsan sahasrāṇi caturdaśa || 1.1.48 ||
While he lived in that forest, fourteen thousand rākṣasas—inhabitants of Jana-sthāna—were slain.
During his stay in that forest Rama killed fourteen thousand rakshasas who were inhabitants of Janasthana.
