That heroic one went to the forest, upholding his pledge—at his father’s command and to fulfill what Kaikeyī desired.
Thereafter, having seen the preparations for installation of Rama, queen Kaikeyi who had been promised earlier with boons by Dasaratha demanded of him the exile of Rama and enthronement of Bharata.
Dharma as fidelity to one’s vow and obedience to rightful authority: Rāma upholds the promise-structure (satya) even at great personal cost.
Rāma accepts exile and departs for the forest in response to Daśaratha’s command shaped by Kaikeyī’s boon.
Steadfast vow-keeping (pratijñā-pālana) and filial obedience aligned with dharma.
