चित्रकूटप्राप्तिः — Bharata Reaches Chitrakuta and Beholds Rama
बाष्पाभिहतकण्ठश्च प्रेक्ष्य रामं यशस्विनम्।आर्येत्येवाभिसङ्क्रुश्य व्याहर्तुं नाशकत्तदा।।2.99.39।।
bāṣpābhihata-kaṇṭhaś ca prekṣya rāmaṃ yaśasvinam | āryety evābhisaṅkruśya vyāhartuṃ nāśakat tadā ||2.99.39||
Seeing the illustrious Rāma, his throat choked by tears, he cried out only “Ārya!”—and then was unable to speak further.
As he beheld the glorious Rama, with his throat choken with tears, he cried out, O Arya (venerable one) and thereafter, was unable to speak any more.
Dharma is inseparable from satya of the heart: Bharata’s tears and inability to speak underscore authentic remorse and reverence, not political calculation.
Bharata beholds Rāma, cries out “Ārya,” and is rendered speechless by grief.
Bharata’s humility and truthfulness; Rāma’s moral radiance (“yaśasvin”) that evokes reverence.
