“Sumantra, rise quickly—go to the leaders of the army and have the forces assembled. For the welfare of the world, I wish to appease Rama, who dwells in the forest, and bring him back.”

O Sumantra, arise, go at once to the leaders of the army and ask them to assemble the troops. I shall propifiate Rama who is in the deep forest and bring him back for the welfare of the world.

Dharma is defined as lokahita (welfare of all): Bharata treats Rama’s return not as personal gain but as restoration of righteous order for the world.

Bharata initiates practical steps—mobilizing troops and attendants—to travel and respectfully persuade Rama in exile to return.

Bharata’s selfless duty and humility: he seeks to ‘appease’ Rama, indicating reverence and reconciliation rather than command.
