Shloka 2.77.15
और्ध्वदैहिकक्रिया-शोकविलापः (Obsequies for Daśaratha and the Brothers’ Lament)
ननु भोज्येषु पानेषु वस्त्रेष्वाभरणेषु च।।।।प्रवारयसि नस्सर्वान् तन्नः कोऽन्यः करिष्यति।
nanu bhojyeṣu pāneṣu vastreṣv ābharaṇeṣu ca |
pravārayasi naḥ sarvān tan naḥ ko 'nyaḥ kariṣyati ||2.77.15||
Did you not always have all of us choose among fine foods and drinks, garments and ornaments? Who else will do that for us now?
You used to make all of us choose delicious food, drinks, garments and ornaments. Who else will do that now?
It points to the dharma of care: a righteous elder/king ensures the well-being and dignity of dependents; material provision here symbolizes responsible guardianship.
Śatrughna recalls Daśaratha’s affectionate household care and grieves that no one can replace him now.
