Here, near Bharadvāja’s hermitage, are logs split by forest-dwellers who live by forest produce; and many different trees are seen as well.

You will see, O Rama, herds of elephants and deer ranging in the forest.

Bharadvāja-āśrama

Dharma is shown through respectful recognition of āśrama culture and simple livelihoods: the verse notes sustainable forest living and the ordered space around a sage’s hermitage.

Approaching Bharadvāja’s āśrama, Rama points out signs of human habitation—split logs and the surrounding variety of trees.

Rama’s sensitivity and restraint—he observes without disturbance, acknowledging the way of life of forest communities and ascetics.
