यौवराज्य-प्रस्तावः (Proposal for Rāma’s Installation as Heir-Apparent)
यदिदं मेऽनुरूपार्थं मया साधु सुमन्त्रितम्।भवन्तो मेऽनुमन्यन्तां कथं वा करवाण्यहम्।।2.2.15।।
yad idaṃ me 'nurūpārthaṃ mayā sādhu sumantritam | bhavanto me 'numanyantāṃ kathaṃ vā karavāṇy aham || 2.2.15 ||
If this plan, fitting for me and well deliberated, seems right, then grant your approval; otherwise, tell me what I should do.
Although it (this decision) is personally favourable to me and I have decided after seeking good counsel, you should also give me your consent and tell me what I should do.
A dharmic ruler acts with transparency and seeks counsel/consent, treating governance as shared responsibility rather than personal will.
Daśaratha invites the assembly to approve his decision or advise an alternative course.
