यौवराज्य-प्रस्तावः (Proposal for Rāma’s Installation as Heir-Apparent)
अनेन श्रेयसा सद्यस्संयोज्यैवमिमां महीम्।गतक्लेशो भविष्यामि सुते तस्मिन्निवेश्य वै।।2.2.14।।
anena śreyasā sadyaḥ saṃyojyaivam imāṃ mahīm | gata-kleśo bhaviṣyāmi sute tasmin niveśya vai || 2.2.14 ||
By promptly entrusting this realm to that son, thus securing its good, I shall be free of anxiety and hardship.
I shall be relieved of my anxiety by entrusting the land (ruled by me) to my son (Rama) without any more delay and thus ensure the continued welfare of this world.
Dharma includes timely delegation of power to a worthy successor so that governance remains stable and welfare continues.
Daśaratha expresses that installing Rāma quickly will relieve his burdens and benefit the kingdom.
Daśaratha’s concern for continuity of good governance and his willingness to step back responsibly.
