Valiant Aṁśumān was born as Asamañja’s son. Dilīpa was Aṁśumān’s son, and Bhagīratha was Dilīpa’s son.
Valiant Anshuman was the son of Asamanja and the father of Dilipa. Dilipa's son was Bhagiratha.
Continuity of righteous lineage: the epic preserves genealogies to anchor moral exemplars in history, presenting dharma as transmitted through memory, education, and royal responsibility.
A succession list is given from Asamañja to Aṁśumān to Dilīpa to Bhagīratha as part of the broader dynastic narration.
Vīrya (valour/strength) is explicitly attributed to Aṁśumān, implying the ideal of capable protectors within the dynasty.
