From Bharata, the mighty-armed, was born a son named Asita. Against him rose hostile rival kings—the Haihayas, the Tālajaṅghas, and the valiant Śaśibindus.
Mighty-armed Bharata had a son named Asita against whom the Haihayas, Talajanghas and the indomitable Sasibindus, the rival kings rose as enenmies.
Dharma for rulers includes endurance amid rivalry: hostility may arise even against rightful kings, testing steadiness and just response.
The genealogy shifts into a conflict episode: Asita faces a coalition of rival dynasties.
Kṣatriya resolve under pressure—being opposed by many rivals is framed as a trial of royal strength and legitimacy.
