Vasiṣṭha, placing Daśaratha’s wives at the front, set out toward that place, yearning to behold Rāma.
Longing to see Rama, Vasistha, headed by the wives of Dasaratha, set out on foot(where Rama was offering libations).
Guidance and solidarity in dharma: the family and the royal priest move together to support rightful rites and moral order after the king’s death.
Vasiṣṭha leads the queens toward the place where Rāma is (in the ritual context of offerings for his father).
Pastoral leadership—Vasiṣṭha’s role as stabilizer and guide for the grieving household.
