Here, in this great forest, my teachers—souls refined by realization—performed offerings; and this sacred ford was empowered and sanctified by mantras, revered through mantra-worship.
My precepters, who had perceived the Supreme Spirit made sacrificial offerings in this great garden, invoked gods through the power of mantras. They brought water and offered oblations to the sacrificial fire.
Dharma as preservation of sacred practice: rites performed with truth and mantra-discipline sanctify nature into a tīrtha for the welfare of others.
Śabarī explains that her gurus performed sacrificial offerings here, making the place a mantra-consecrated sacred spot.
Respect for teachers and lineage (guru-bhakti) and faithfulness to sanctifying traditions.
