When you arrived at Chitrakuta, those whom I had served ascended from here to heaven in aerial chariots of incomparable radiance.
Those great honourable sages who knew the ways of dharma said: 'Rama would visit this sacred hermitage along with Lakshmana. He would be your guest. Receive himwith due honour. And you would attain the great, inexhaustible worlds when you see him.'
Dharma as service and reverence: sincere attendance upon the righteous bears spiritual fruit, and the presence of a dharmic person sanctifies a place.
Śabarī recounts a wondrous event connected with Rama’s arrival at Chitrakuta and the ascent of those she had served.
Śabarī’s devotion expressed through service (sevā) and gratitude toward the holy.
