एवमुक्तस्तु रामेण महर्षिर्लोकविश्रुतः।अब्रवीन्मधुरं वाक्यं हर्षेण महताऽप्लुतः।।3.7.16।।

evam uktaḥ tu rāmeṇa maharṣir loka-viśrutaḥ |

abravīn madhuraṃ vākyaṃ harṣeṇa mahatāplutaḥ || 3.7.16 ||

Thus addressed by Rāma, the great sage—renowned in the world—overwhelmed with great joy, spoke sweet words in reply.

Thus addressed by Rama, Sutikshna, the great sage, well-known to the world was highly delighted. He (then) said these sweet words:

R
Rāma
S
Sūtīkṣṇa

Right speech and right reception: respectful address fosters harmony; dharma is also social—maintaining auspicious relations between rulers/warriors and ascetics.

The narrator notes Sūtīkṣṇa’s delighted reaction to Rāma’s words, preparing for the sage’s guidance about the hermitage.

Rāma’s courtesy and the sage’s graciousness—mutual propriety (maryādā) in dialogue.
