Look upon me, O hero—helpless, fallen under the demon’s sway. I alone have been offered up; therefore free yourself, O Rāghava.
O heroic Rama! see how helpless I am under the control of the demon. Set yourself free, leaving me alone and using me as an offering.
Self-sacrifice for a righteous cause: Lakshmana proposes giving himself so Rama may continue the dharmic mission of rescuing Sita.
While held by Kabandha, Lakshmana urges Rama to escape by treating him as a sacrificial offering to the demon.
Brotherly devotion and tyāga (willingness to sacrifice oneself) in service of a higher dharmic goal.
